Today is the day!!

Today is the day to say goodbye, today is the day to start missing all my new friends, to smile and laugh while remembering all the stories and memories, Yes this is going to be an emotional blog jaja, at least for me.

I remember like it was yesterday the day we met in the Four Season Hotel. Everybody was a little bit nervous and anxious but with the time we started breaking the ice. We started talking and sharing our lives and as fast as we began knowing each other, the day to say goodbye arrived. I can return home with my heart happy and full of good feelings. The CSC assignment is an experience that we’ll remember for the rest of our lives, this group of friends from all over the world that help me to be a better professional at work, a better friend and a better person.

I have to say that I enjoyed every day working with our client and team. The meetings, trips, presentations, and dinners were absolutely great; I think that some of us gain some weight jaja.

We met some wonderful people here, everybody is kind and trustful. If I have the chance for coming back to Indonesia I’ll be very happy and exited :D.

IBM and ABV Team I just want you to know that all of you have earned my friendship and distance will not be a barrier to keep in touch, thanks for everything.

Thanks David for you patience while asking you to repeat what you say. You speak very fast jaja.
Thanks Trupty for changing my name so many times jaja, it is still funny jaja.
Thanks Nitin for sharing your interest in Temple Run and experience in your work.
Thanks Flavia for your friendship and Spanish conversations.
Thanks Sergio for the laughs and excellent pasta.
Thanks Terry for your friendship, even if I forgot we were in the same airplane jaja :p.
Thanks Karen for sharing your happiness and new dancing moves.
Thanks Manuel for the jokes and paparazzi photos.
Thanks Yolande for your guide and experience in the country.
Thanks Waya for your help and support during our stay in the country.
Thanks Maej for helping us everyday and taking care of each one.
Thanks Prima for been an awesome person and good friend.
Thanks to our clients and Magnolia family.
Thanks to everyone and hope to see you sometime in our lives.

Your friend, Víctor Manuel González Yáñez.

Farewell Time !!

21st March'2013

Today was the day of IBM CSC closing ceremony.

We went to Bapedda office along with IBM Jakarta team and all clients.

Flavia from BPPT, Yolande from DISKOMINFO and Trupty from PUSDALISBANG presented respective projects.

We all got a huge round of applause from all clients for our work. They were all in praise for the value added by IBM teams towards their goal.

Pusdalisbang client invited their team to Cafe Bali for dinner and farewell and BPPT team invited all for Karaoke and Ciater Hot Springs.
So, our team went to Cafe Bali and rest 2 teams went with BPPT team.

We had a lovely farewell speech by our client. They gifted us Wooden Puppets imprinted with our names.

In return, we all 4 - Myself, Trupty, David and Victor thanked client for the trust they had shown in us and making this assignment a wonderful memory.

I am leaving on Saturday to India with a hope that I will be able to meet all these lovely people again in my life especially in India so that i can offer them the same humbleness and hospitality i have received here.

Wrapping Up Our Assignment

Yesterday Team DISKOMINFO presented our final presentation.  Everyone was engaged and interested in our findings and recommendations even though the presentation lasted a little over two hours!

I was very happy that Pak Asep, who attended our final presentation, asked if I would sit with him today to explain to him how we completed the skill assessment so that he may do it himself.  I built the model within Excel for this exact purpose so that anyone at DISKOMINFO can use it for thier own division and in the future, but it's encouraging that the staff is showing initiative.

Our team had an end-of-assignment lunch at Sindang Reret with Pak Purnomo and Imke.  It was an authentic Sudanese restaurant that specializes in fish dishes.  It was quite delicious!

Our last hours in the office were quite sentimental.  We made our rounds thanking everyone who supported and helped us to complete our assignment.  I promised them a friend in the States if they ever wish to visit.

We continued  the celebrations into the evening when our resident Italian chef cooked us a wonderful spaghetti dinner.  Tonight is our last night together as a team as the different client teams have plans tomorrow night and people begin their travels back to their respectives home on Friday.

It's bittersweet as I'm looking forward to starting my vacation, but I will miss my CSC Indonesia Team 4 Family!!

Love,
Karen
