Bogor Weekend!!

Hey this is Víctor from Guadalajara, “”jaja Flavia I know you are laughing” For this weekend the team got separated. Flavia, Sergio, Maej Manuel and Terry decided to stay in Bandung, while Trupty, Yolande, Karen, Nitin, David and Myself decided to go to Bogor.

Just 15 minutes before arriving we made a quick stop in a view point were you can have a complete view from Bogor. We stop there just a minute so we can continue our trip. But then something different happened, there was a terrible traffic jam a few meters from the view point and only cars in the opposite direction were passing.

Our driver “Dani”, was talking with Kiki the IBM security manager from Jakarta, and Kiki told us that the road was opened in a single direction. It was 12pm and the road will be opened until 2pm. Dani suggested us to visit the Flower Garden Taman Bunga just “13km, yeah of course” from there, of course we said yes.

If I describe Bogor in a single word I’ll say TRAFFIC jajaja, there is always traffic and with the brightest idea of closing the roads some hours, it is the greatest thing ever jajjaja.

So we arrive to the flower park after 45 minutes and a trip that starts feeling eternal but with a lot of fun :D. We have a nice surprise when we arrive because the park it looks big and have a huge flower peacock in the entrance. They have small gardens representing some countries of the world. We were there for an hour more or less and took plenty of pictures in the place.

When we returned to the road we were very happy because the road seemed to be open but guess what, yes it wasn’t jajaja, so we had to wait again for some hours on the road. We decided to have lunch while waiting and lucky for us there was a hotel just next to us. After having lunch the road was open and we were able to pass to Bogor :D.

We arrived to the hotel and we were just thinking in resting for the Sunday tour. When we came to the lobby we had a surprise, they didn’t have our rooms, even if we had confirmation numbers, they gave us a family suit so the 6 of us can stay for the night. The hotel looked very nice and we went to the swimming pool and had a relaxing nice swim.  Then we had dinner in the hotel restaurant and we had a small “irelandmexicanindianamerican” party jajaja, we had a lot of fun laughing and dancing that night.

On Sunday, we woke up early and had early breakfast so we can continue our journey. We met the trip guide Alwy and we were ready to go. First we went to the Gong Factory and we saw the traditional way to create a Gong.

After this we went to a small house were they build traditional wood puppets, they were very kind and gave us tee and a banana entrance, very good by the way. They have a lot of puppets and of different sizes and it was very interesting to learn the process and history of the business.

Finally we wanted to go to some rice fields and visit a village, Dani took us to a small village and rice fields in the outside of Bogor. We took some pictures and we finally returned to the city. We had lunch and we took a picture in front of Alwy uncle house jaja the governor.

We had a very nice journey, the traffic, delays, broken pool tables, spiders were nothing compare with the laughs and nice experience we had together so I can say it is a nice story to remember and talk with our family and friends. Can’t wait for our next weekend travel :D
